Hearts of Oak denies handing coach Aboubakar Ouattara an ultimatum after a terrible start to the season.

Aboubakar Ouattara

Hearts of Oak have refuted recent allegations that purportedly gave head coach Abubakar Ouattara a five-game ultimatum to keep his job.

These rumors are "completely false and contrived," according to the club's administration.

Since taking over in February 2024, Ouattara has only managed seven victories and eight defeats, demonstrating his lack of consistency.

After fighting to avoid relegation the previous season, the team lost their first game, falling to Basake Holy Stars 1-0.

Due to this inconsistent record, fans and commentators are becoming increasingly concerned about the club's direction this season.

But the club denied in a formal statement that the Ivorian coach had received any kind of ultimatum.

According to the club, there has been a 5-match ultimatum given to head coach Abubakar Ouattara. However, reports circulating in certain media outlets claiming otherwise are false and fabricated and should be ignored. This is what the management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC would like to emphasize and notify all of our stakeholders and the general public.

The team also issued a call to action for supporters to unite and support the team as they embark on the upcoming season.

"Our determination to succeed depends on our support for Coach Ouattara, his technical staff, and the players," the statement said.

Hearts of Oak urged the media to double-check any stories regarding the club to stop false information from spreading.
