Hearts of Oak is making progress in negotiations to sign Accra Lions' Andrews Owusu.

Andrews Owusu

Hearts of Oak have intensified their efforts to sign Accra Lions goalkeeper Andrews Owusu to strengthen their goalkeeping staff in time for the upcoming season.

The recently ended domestic top-flight competition presented difficulties for the Phobians in goalkeeping.

The Phobians' dismal season was caused by their terrible goal conceding despite playing with over three different goalkeepers alternately.

The Ghanaian had a difficult season the previous year, placing 14th in the Ghana Premier League rankings.

They've been looking for a new goalkeeper and have found Andrews Owusu, who played well for the Accra Lions the previous season.

Ahead of the upcoming campaign, the Phobians are reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign the highly-regarded goalkeeper.

In the upcoming days, Hearts of Oak and Owusu are anticipated to reach a personal agreement.

The Accra Lions, who placed second in the just concluded Ghana Premier League, benefited greatly from Owusu's contributions.
