Baba Yahaya: Asante Kotoko is assembling an all-around squad for the next campaign.

Asante Kotoko

Baba Yahaya, a midfielder for Asante Kotoko, says that when the Ghana Premier League season begins, his team will not rely on any one person.

The previous season presented difficulties for the Porcupine Warriors, who placed sixth in the domestic premier league, won by Samartex.

The Ghanaian giants parted ways with almost 20 players after a poor campaign to create room for newcomers.

The previous Ghana Premier League winners have added 12 players thus far in preparation for the upcoming season.

Baba Yahaya, one of the few players still playing for Kotoko, told the media that his team is assembling an all-around squad to contend in the next campaign.

"For the upcoming season, we are assembling a well-rounded team. We will not depend on specific players. We do not need to rely on a single striker. We are not assembling the squad around a single individual. When the chips are down, we should all be able to win," he remarked.

Asante Kotoko is presently getting ready for the campaign of 2024–2025. In the preseason friendly games, they have already recorded two victories.

On Friday, as part of the opening ceremony for the recently constructed TNA Park in Tarkwa, The Porcupine will play Medeama.

Karela United will be Kotoko's first Premier League opponent.
