Francis Akwafo, a former winger for Asante Kotoko, has expressed happiness with the players the club has brought in during the current transfer window.

After finishing sixth in the dismal season, Kotoko made major roster changes, cutting over 20 players and adding twelve new players, most of whom are elite talents.

Speaking to Footballghana.com on Kessben FM, Akwafo claimed the Ghanaian powerhouses had made the best acquisitions during this transfer window.

When compared to the previous season, Kotoko has made the best acquisitions during this window. Because they are mature and have established themselves, the players recruited during this window are the best. We have excellent foreign players as well. Overall, I'd say the club hired more people this season than it did the previous one.

"I saw them play in the Democracy Cup versus Hearts of Oak, and I could tell the players were skilled and mature. They only need to be aware of who they are, and they will be OK.

The club will play a friendly match at the new TNA Stadium on Friday, August 16, against Medeama SC as part of their pre-season preparations.
