Ahead of the next 2024–25 Ghana football season, Prosper Narteh Ogum, the coach of Asante Kotoko, has voiced his delight over the quality and depth of the squad at his disposal.

The Porcupine Warriors have added more than ten players to their roster in advance of the upcoming football season, having parted ways with twenty-one players.

Speaking following his club's pre-season friendly loss 2-1 to Medeama SC at T&N Park over the weekend, he observed, "There is so much quality in the team." It is our responsibility to ensure that they have the bravery and self-assurance to express themselves whenever given the chance.

"Therefore, Kumasi Asante Kotoko stands to benefit from the talent and depth present in the team," he continued.

Kofi Babil and Prosper Boakye of Medeama scored in the 21st and 89th minutes, respectively, while Bernard Somuah of Kotoko scored in the 62nd.

Asante Kotoko hopes to contend for prizes in the upcoming season following a turbulent 2023–24 Ghana Premier League campaign that saw them finish sixth with 49 points.

The Porcupine Warriors' season will begin on the road at Aliu Mahama Stadium against Karela United.
