Caleb Amankwah, a former defender for Hearts of Oak, is pleading with Ghanaian teams to put player welfare first, emphasizing high salaries as a way to retain talented players in the local leagues and maintain competition.

The center defender, who left Hearts of Oak to join Commercial Bank FC in Ethiopia, said that salaries are higher there than in Ghana.

He feels that raising players' salaries is the greatest method to keep talented players and that doing so will also help draw more spectators to the stadium on matchdays.

At Asempa FM, Amankwah stated, "If there is money in Ghana, we will stay and play in the Ghana Premier League."

What will happen to you if you let a crucial player go? Which player is the fan planning to attend the game?

"They ought to pay the players so they may continue competing in the Ghana Premier League."

Amankwah's exit from the Ghana Premier League is only one of several players who have moved abroad to work as professional athletes for teams in other African nations, including South Africa, Tanzania, Rwanda, Congo, and Rwanda.
