Asante Kotoko begins construction at Adako Jackie to convert the training ground into a cutting-edge facility funded by Otumfuo

Asante Kotoko

Ghana's biggest team, Asante Kotoko, has announced that work to modernize their Adako Jachie training ground will begin right away. The project is being funded by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the club's life patron.

On Thursday, July 25, the Porcupine Warriors announced the project's launch on social media.

The complex would house player hostels and seven pitches, one of which resembles a miniature stadium.

Rival supporters have consistently attacked Asante Kotoko over the years for allegedly lacking necessary amenities that a top-tier team would not have.

There have been rumors that Asante Kotoko players used to go into the jungle and cut themselves free.

However, the club said in a statement that everything appears to be coming to an end.

According to the club's announcement, "THE KING'S PROJECT."

"We are happy to report that work on converting Adako Jachie into a cutting-edge training center has begun. This large-scale project will be carried out in stages and is totally supported by His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Phase One has begun as of today.

"As we work to create a premier training center, stay tuned for updates. Magnificent!"

The team had a difficult season the previous year and only managed to finish sixth, 12 points behind Samartex, the Ghana Premier League winners
