Glid Otanga, a midfielder from Congo, gave an explanation for his decision to leave Hearts of Oak and sign with Al Kharaitiyat SC in Qatar during the current transfer window.

This week, the Phobians confirmed that the highly-rated midfielder has left the Ghanaian superpower to join a team in Qatar.

He gave the following explanation for leaving Hearts of Oak: "There are moments in life when you have to make decisions that will further your personal development. I did not find it easy to leave Hearts of Oak.

"The Hearts of Oak squad is excellent. I had wonderful pals and did well in the club. You understand that the players were like family, but sometimes in life, you have to make decisions. He stated, "I hope you understand that you need to think about your future and your family," in an audio clip that Footballghana.com obtained and played on Wontumi FM.

After joining the Phobians in 2022, Otanga has made an impression. He was a key player in the team's Ghanaian FA Cup victory.

After an exceptional performance, he became a transfer target for other clubs; nonetheless, the Congolese player chose to join the Qatari club.

As Al Kharaitiyat SC looks to make an impression in the upcoming season, he will be a great addition to the team.

Otanga played for Coton Sport FC de Garoua in Cameroon and Akonangui FC in Equatorial Guinea before moving to Ghana, where he acquired useful experience.

Having played in several African divisions, he possesses a wide range of skills and a solid grasp of the game, which makes him an asset to any squad.
