Despite their recent troubles, Hearts of Oak board member Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has reassured supporters that the team will soon be competitive again.

Relegation has threatened the Phobian Club for the past two seasons.

On the last day of the 2023–24 season, Hearts of Oak defeated Bechem United 3-2 to clinch their place in the Premier League.

Speaking to JoySports about the club's present situation, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe asserted that the team was heading in the correct direction.

"The caliber of football alone at Hearts of Oak and its performances within and outside Africa would shock many people," the former GFA Chairman remarked. "I can promise you that during the next five years, you will not believe (the improvement)."

He continued, "I will tell the fans that we are developing something they will be proud of one day because it is a long-term effort."

Hearts of Oak, meantime, have relocated their preseason camp to Asutsuare in the Greater Accra Region's Shai Osudoku District.

Before traveling to Lome, Togo for the last phase of their preseason, coach Abubakar Ouattara and the rest of the team will train in Asutsuare for a week.

Hearts of Oak will host debutant Basake Holy Stars in the Accra Sports Stadium to kick off the 2024–25 Ghana Premier League season.
