After suffering a chronic injury, Hearts of Oak goalie Eric Ofori Antwi has charged the team with mistreatment.

Due to an injury that needs surgery, the former Medeama SC player has been out of commission for 11 months. However, the club has not yet approved the procedure, thus Antwi is in a precarious situation.

Ofori Antwi chastised the club in an interview for having abandoned him in his hour of need.

Speaking on Medeama FM, he stated, "I got hurt 11 months ago, and the doctor prescribed surgery, but I'm still waiting for Hearts of Oak to take action."

Antwi also revealed that they asked him to quit after he went to the club for assistance with his injuries.

"They instructed me to go home after I got wounded," he continued, seeming disappointed.

Despite the circumstances, Antwi is still optimistic that Hearts of Oak will help him in the end.

He continued, Hearts of Oak will support me and help me have the surgery.

In response to speculation that he was leaving, Antwi stated that he was still under contract with the team.

After moving from Legon Cities to Hearts of Oak in August 2022, Antwi played in just eight league games before suffering an injury.

Ahead of the 2024–2025 GPL season, Hearts of Oak has stated that they have broken up with Eric Ofori Antwi.
