Hearts of Oak

Ghana's top football team, Hearts of Oak, will play newly promoted Basake Holy Stars in their opening game of the 2024–25 Ghana Premier League.

The Accra Sports Stadium will host the game on Friday, September 6, and Sunday, September 9, 2024. The last day of the season is June 7 or 8, 2025.

The Phobians are keen to put up a strong title campaign this year after just missing out on promotion the previous season.

Hearts of Oak will also play in the Super Clash's opening round, taking on Asante Kotoko, their bitterest rivals, at Baba Yara Sports Stadium on December 13–16, 2024.

The return leg has dates of May 2–May 5, 2025, in the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts of Oak defeated Bechem United 3-2 at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park to clinch their Premier League status in a thrilling way to close up the 2023–2024 campaign.

They had 45 points from 34 games, finishing 14th in the league and just one point away from relegation.

The team underwent a major makeover in front of the new campaign, cutting ties with several players and adding fresh talent in an attempt to bolster their roster and launch a legitimate title threat.
