Aboubakar Ouattara, the head coach of Hearts of Oak, has acknowledged that the team's inability to win games during the season hurt the club's supporters.

Following their 2024 Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup triumph over Heart of Lions on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, the Ivorian coach made this declaration.

After the match, Ouattara gave a speech in which he took delight in the club's victory and made hints that his redesigned squad would soon be playing in the Ghana Premier League, which begins on September 6, 2024.

"I am proud of the supporters of the Hearts of Oak family, a large family." I feel proud because all these people went through a lot last season, and I believe that this trophy is just the start of something bigger for the league.

"Perhaps Hearts of Oak will soon have a fresh look in the league."

On the last day of the previous season, the Rainbow boys managed to avoid relegation. With 45 points, Hearts of Oak concluded the 2023–24 Ghana Premier League season in 14th place.

The team avoided relegation thanks to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Bechem United in their final game.

Hearts of Oak is actively seeking to strengthen its team in preparation for the forthcoming season through transfer activity.
