If Asante Kotoko does not win the Ghana Premier League in 2024–2025, I will be shocked - Opoku Nti

Samuel Opoku Nti, the former CEO of Asante Kotoko, thinks the team has brought in quality players to win the Ghana Premier League in 2024–2025.

The Porcupine Warriors finished the previous season with 49 points, sixth place after a difficult campaign.

However, the team has already added 12 players for the upcoming season. As part of their preseason practice, Kotoko defeated Hearts of Oak 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium in the inaugural Democracy Cup.

Opoku Nti says he would be shocked if the Reds did not win the championship, considering they will be playing Karela United on the road to start the season.

The former Ghana international told Kumasi-based Akoma FM, "Given the team they have assembled, I will be amazed if they (Asante Kotoko) do not win the league."

These days, collaboration and individual skills are equally important. In certain circumstances, the coach does not need to issue commands; in those cases, you need players who are mature enough to step up and help the team when necessary, and I believe the current Kokoko team possesses both of those qualities.

"I am really delighted about the acquisitions Kotoko made, and if this trend continues, it will be a turning moment.

"Given Kotoko's competitors, I would be surprised if Kotoko did not win the league," he continued.

On Friday, August 16, Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC will play in the official opening of the recently constructed T&A Park.
