President Nana Akufo-Addo has commended the Ghana Premier League's changing dynamics, highlighting the advantages of young teams like FC Samartex in 1996 taking home the championship.

When the 2023–2024 winners, who won the league in just their second season in the top flight, paid a visit, he emphasized this feeling.

With their victory, FC Samartex not only guarantees their place in the CAF Champions League but also puts them up to play Victoria United of Cameroon in the first round.

President Akufo-Addo noted the welcome change from the domination of established powerhouses like Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, praising the ascent of teams like Medeama SC and Samartex, who won the 2022–2023 league.

"This season, we were all quite delighted to follow your ascent and emergence. It's encouraging to see Ghanaian football becoming more diverse and eschewing the traditions of the past.

"We should all work to sustain the vibrancy and renewal that Medeama last year and you [Sanartex] this year it's really healthy for Ghana football," said President Akufo-Addo.
