Opoku Nti, the former CEO of Asante Kotoko, recently gave retrospectives on his time leading the team's management, characterizing it as a selfless role.

Nti had one-on-one sessions with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II while serving in an interim capacity, waiting for the formation of the board. He tried, but his role was never clear, and he ended up having to pre-fund the club's operations.

"I performed a lot of sacrifice work for Kotoko," the Division One League Super Cup Committee Chairman said to Joy Sports.

Before Dr. KK Sarpong's retirement, Nti suddenly succeeded him and functioned as a special advisor. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II put Nti in charge of running the club because it was in a dangerous situation until a new management and a board were in place.

"I was pre-financing the club even though I knew the board should have done it, but I was doing that myself," he said. Nti highlighted the difficulties in raising money for the team, making sure that money was used wisely, and making sure that players were paid on schedule so that their spirits would not drop.

"It never occurred during my tenure because I was certain that timely salary payments and winning incentives provide players with a positive outlook, which in turn motivates them to perform well," he said.
